"A.....MOTHER'S DAY"

Proverbs 31:28  "Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her."

Today 5/12/24 is Mother's Day and I felt a little sadness because I wasn't able to have all 3 of my children with me.....nor all 4 grandkids.  And when I thought about how this one day out of 365 days a year, we're celebrated and shown love at unimaginable heights, I thought to myself when are we not being mothers???  As mothers, we are overworked and underpaid, so to say!  Can I just get an AMEN!!!

We put on many hats depending upon the circumstances at hand.  We are doctors and nurses when they're sick, we're referees when there's conflicts, we're after hour teachers when there are problems with homework; we're definitely lawyers laying down house rules and we're the judge, all at the same time!!!  We are cooks, chefs, bankers, ATM machines, teachers, mediators, psychologists, confidents, protectors, policy makers, policy breakers; housekeepers, babysitters, janitors, parents, wives (need I say more?); we are ALL THAT AND THEN SOME!  And this is on a daily basis...but, we're celebrated that ONE(1) day out of 365 days a year.

But most of all, we are nurturers; we love no matter what!  We are prayer warriors because believe it or not we pray for our children;  our household, even when they don't treat us right or even do or say some things to us that a child shouldn't say to their parents.  But we love them with the love of God!  The celebrating of mothers should be 24 hours a day, 7days a week, 365 days of the year; in other word, celebrated EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR!  PERIODT!!!  There are some mothers who have to clock-in to that 8-5 and then continue from the time they get off up to the time her head hits the pillow at night; just to wake up the next morning to do it all over again.

For this reason, this is why I chose to celebrate "ME" everyday whether I just sit quietly for 30 minutes to an hour, go to Starbucks near me for coffee or even take a stroll down the isles of a thrift store, Marshall's, Ross, etc.  Whatever I choose to do for me that day, that's my celebratory moment of being "MOM".  We as mothers have to learn to take time out for ourselves; otherwise you'll consume yourself with others, leaving no room for you.  I've learned to plan for these daily things and I pretty much stick to them.  It's those little moments for self that will do your spiritual man, your stress management, some good.  It allows you to just "breathe"......So, with that being said, stop leaving yourself out of the equation of your day-to-day living.  Find something in every day just for you.  You owe it to yourself because there's not a moment in your life that you're not a mother!  "A MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION IS TO BE CELEBRATED EVERYDAY, BECAUSE EVERYDAY,  WE ARE MOTHERS!!!  CELEBRATE YOU!

Love ya Ladybugs!  Be blessed, Hazel Crosby
